This year marks a significant milestone for Alman Partners: 10 years of accreditation by the Centre for Fiduciary Excellence (CEFEX).

While anniversaries are often a time to reflect on achievements, this milestone is about much more than longevity. It represents 10 years of putting clients first, adhering to rigorous fiduciary standards, and embracing independent review as an opportunity to continually improve. Today, Alman Partners is one of only six firms in Australia to have maintained CEFEX accreditation for 10 consecutive years, reflecting our enduring commitment to accountability, transparency and fiduciary excellence.

What Is CEFEX?

CEFEX is an independent global assessment and certification organisation that promotes fiduciary best practices within the financial services industry. A CEFEX-accredited firm demonstrates adherence to a recognised fiduciary standard that places client interests at the centre of every decision. Accreditation is not awarded permanently. Firms must voluntarily undergo independent annual assessments to maintain certification and demonstrate ongoing compliance with best-practice standards.

For clients, CEFEX accreditation provides an additional layer of confidence that their adviser operates according to a disciplined, transparent and accountable framework.

What Fiduciary Excellence Means

At its core, fiduciary excellence means acting in the best interests of clients at all times.

It requires more than technical expertise or regulatory compliance. It involves maintaining robust processes, managing conflicts of interest appropriately, documenting decision-making, undertaking ongoing due diligence, and continuously monitoring investment and advice outcomes.

A fiduciary approach asks a simple but powerful question:

“Is this decision in the client’s best interests?”

That principle underpins every recommendation, strategy and investment decision we make.

Why It Matters to Clients

Financial advice is built on trust. Clients entrust advisers with some of life’s most important financial decisions, from growing wealth and preparing for retirement to supporting family goals and navigating major life transitions.

Our ongoing CEFEX accreditation provides independent verification that the systems, governance and processes supporting our advice continue to meet a recognised fiduciary standard. Rather than simply asking clients to trust us, the accreditation process provides external validation of our commitment to fiduciary best practice.

For clients, this means:

  • Confidence that their interests come first.
  • Greater transparency and accountability.
  • Clearly defined processes for advice and investment management.
  • A culture of continuous improvement.
  • Independent annual review of our fiduciary practices.

Maintaining Excellence Is an Ongoing Commitment

Achieving CEFEX accreditation is an accomplishment. Maintaining it for 10 consecutive years is a commitment.

Each year, independent fiduciary experts conduct a rigorous review of our policies, governance, client files, investment processes and operational practices. This requires us to open our systems, processes and decision-making frameworks to detailed external scrutiny.

We do not view this as a compliance exercise or simply an audit to pass. Rather, it is an opportunity to challenge ourselves, identify areas for improvement and strengthen the way we serve our clients.

A question sits at the heart of every review:

“How can we do this better for our clients?”

That commitment to continuous improvement is one of the most valuable aspects of CEFEX accreditation. As one of only six firms in Australia to have maintained accreditation for 10 consecutive years, we recognise the responsibility that comes with that achievement.

For Alman Partners, fiduciary excellence is not a destination but a discipline. It requires transparency, accountability and ongoing investment in our people, systems and governance to ensure we continue delivering advice that is thoughtful, objective and client-focused.

After 10 years of accreditation, we remain as committed as ever to learning, improving and holding ourselves to the highest standards on behalf of our clients.

A Thank You to Our Clients

As we celebrate this 10-year milestone, we recognise that fiduciary excellence is ultimately about the people we serve.

We are grateful for the trust our clients place in us and proud to have maintained this independent accreditation for a decade. This milestone reflects our enduring commitment to providing advice guided by integrity, accountability and a genuine focus on helping clients achieve their financial goals.

Ten years of CEFEX accreditation is an achievement worth celebrating. More importantly, it is a reminder of the standards we strive to uphold every day, the value of independent review and challenge, and our commitment to continuously improving the advice and service we provide for many years to come.
